Content Keyword Research

A practical research routine for creators without enterprise research tools.

Start from real questions

The best research input is not a tool — it is the questions your audience already asks you. Comments, emails, DMs and support tickets contain exact phrasing you cannot generate.

Collect those verbatim before you open any keyword tool. They become your seeds.

Expand systematically

Run each seed through expansion, long-tail and question generation. This gives breadth quickly and surfaces angles you would not have thought of unaided.

Keep the raw output; you will want to revisit discarded ideas later.

Judge with what you actually know

Without reliable volume data, your judgement is the filter: does this phrase match how your audience speaks, can you cover it better than what exists, and does it lead anywhere commercially?

Those three questions are more useful than a volume estimate you cannot verify.

Close the loop

After publishing, note which topics generated responses and which did not. That feedback is real data about your specific audience, which is worth more than a generic industry benchmark.
