Keywords
Keyword vs Hashtag
Two similar-looking things that behave completely differently — and when to use each.

Different systems entirely
A keyword is a phrase somebody types into a search engine. A hashtag is a clickable label that groups posts inside one platform. They can share words, but they belong to different systems with different rules.
Length and grammar
Keywords can be long, natural and full of prepositions. Hashtags cannot contain spaces, so long phrases collapse into unreadable strings. That single constraint drives most of the practical differences.
Where each belongs
Keywords belong in titles, headings and body copy, written naturally. Hashtags belong at the end of a social caption or in a comment. Mixing them up — hashtags in page titles, keyword sentences as tags — is a common and visible mistake.
Convert deliberately
When moving from research to social, shorten first and convert second. The shortening is the important step; the conversion is just formatting.
