What the Keyword Merger does
The Keyword Merger combines two lists and breaks the relationship down into four views: everything merged, the overlap, and each list's exclusive entries.
How it works
Both lists are lowercased for comparison while original casing is preserved in the output. Set operations produce the intersection and the two differences.
- 1Paste list A in the main field.
- 2Paste list B in the second field.
- 3Generate the four groups.
- 4Use the overlap group to spot agreement between sources.
- 5Export the merged list once you are happy.
Worked example
Lists ['yoga','pilates'] and ['pilates','mobility'] overlap on 'pilates' and leave 'yoga' and 'mobility' exclusive.
Who uses it
- Comparing your tags with a competitor set you compiled
- Merging research from two team members
- Finding gaps between last month's and this month's lists
- Checking two campaigns for tag overlap
Best practices
- Clean both lists first for accurate matching.
- Treat the overlap as your highest-confidence core.
- Investigate exclusives before discarding them.
- Save the merged output as a collection.
Honest limitations
Matching is exact after lowercasing, so 'yoga mat' and 'yoga mats' count as different entries.
Frequently asked questions
- Is casing ignored?
- Yes for matching; the output keeps your original casing.
- Can I merge three lists?
- Merge two, then feed the merged output back as list A.
- Which group should I keep?
