How to Build Campaign Tags
Design a small, consistent tag family everyone on the team can use correctly.

One primary tag, always
Campaigns fail at tagging when there are three competing tags and nobody knows which is official. Choose one primary tag, write it down, and put it in the campaign brief above everything else.
It should be short, spellable over the phone, and unambiguous when read aloud.
Build the family around it
Supporting tags combine the campaign name with brand, location, audience or event. These help you segment content later without diluting the primary tag.
Keep the family under six tags total. A family nobody can remember is a family nobody uses.
Decide about the year
Add the year only if the campaign repeats annually and you want separate archives per run. For one-off campaigns the year adds length without adding value.
Check before you print
Search every tag on every platform you will use before it appears on signage, packaging or ads. No offline tool can check availability, and discovering a clash after printing is expensive.
